Benevolent Fund
Created in 2015, the York Regional Police Association Benevolent Fund was started with a vision of “Members Helping Members.” The objective of this fund is to engage in fundraising activities to raise money to assist members of the YRPA and their families who require support due to death, illness, injury or otherwise. Funds disbursed through the Benevolent Fund are determined on a case-by-case basis and the amount awarded on a yearly basis will be dependent on the amount of money in the fund. Applications can be found on the YRPA’s members website and app and are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Frank Laskoski Bursary Program
YRPA is proud to support our members’ children as they work toward their post-secondary education through the Frank Laskoski Bursary. Established in 2000 by York Regional Police Association, the Frank Laskoski Bursary honours the contributions and legacy of Sergeant Frank Edwin Laskoski. On June 5, 1988, Frank’s life was tragically taken when he was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 9. Frank was survived by his wife Marilyn, and two children, Drew and Donna. In honor of Frank, York Regional Police Association established Frank Laskoski Bursary.
The bursary program is designed to assist the children of York Region Police Association’s members that are pursuing post-secondary education, and are involved in their community, either through volunteer work, participation in sports activities or extracurricular activities.
The bursary application process opens each June and closes the beginning of August. Students are encouraged to prepare their documents early and submit their application as soon as possible to ensure consideration.
Full details are available through the YRPA office and members’ website.
